Recently, the Shanxi Wenshui 200MW/100.83MWh independent hybrid energy storage project, in which Shenzhen SMS Energy Technology Co., Ltd. played a significant role, achieved full-capacity grid connection. The project adopts a hybrid technology approach combining flywheel energy storage and lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage. It stands as a nationally leading new energy storage demonstration project and marks another large-scale frequency modulation energy storage initiative undertaken by SMS Energy in Shanxi.

As a core energy storage system supplier, SMS Energy provides a complete set of 50MW/50MWh lithium iron phosphate battery electrochemical energy storage equipment and solutions. The PCS, BMS, and EMS systems it provides ensure stable coordination between the energy storage device and the power grid, laying a crucial foundation for the smooth grid connection of the project. Previously, the company participated in the construction of the 100MW/50.43MWh independent hybrid frequency modulation energy storage power station in Yicheng, Shanxi, which has consistently maintained a top-tier profitability level in the frequency modulation projects in the Shanxi region, fully demonstrating its technical strength and project operation capabilities.
After the project is put into operation, it will leverage the technical advantages of "power-type + energy-type" to effectively smooth out fluctuations in new energy generation, enhance the grid's frequency and peak regulation capabilities, and improve the level of new energy consumption, with an estimated annual reduction of over 200,000 tons of carbon emissions. At the same time, as another benchmark project of SMS Energy in Shanxi, this project will continue its mature experience in frequency regulation, providing a replicable example for the large-scale application of high-capacity hybrid energy storage technology and business model innovation.
