At 11:00 am on September 27, 2023, with the last battery compartment lifted in place, SMS Energy Xinjiang Shihezi completed the overall delivery of the 45MW/90MWh energy storage air-cooled battery system.
This energy storage project belongs to the supporting project of China Power Construction Corporation's 300000 kilowatt photovoltaic project at the 1 million kilowatt photovoltaic base in Shihezi, northern Xinjiang, China. The total installed capacity is 45MW/90MWh, consisting of 14 battery compartments and 14 booster compartments. The energy storage system is connected to the 35kV bus side of the newly built booster station of the photovoltaic field through a 35kV voltage level at a 0.5C charging and discharging rate.
This energy storage system, through new design concepts such as 'stringing', 'intelligence', and 'modularization', can achieve higher discharge, better investment, minimal operation and maintenance, safety and reliability throughout the entire life cycle of the energy storage system. As a flexible resource, it provides photovoltaic energy storage services for the new energy dominated power system, helping to promote the adjustment of Xinjiang's energy structure and the construction of clean energy in Xinjiang.
