Recently, the 200MW/400MWh shared energy storage project in Jinghong, Yunnan, which was jointly constructed by SMS Energy, was successfully connected to the grid and put into operation. As the first large-scale grid side independent energy storage facility in Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province, the project successfully completed commissioning at the beginning of this month, marking a breakthrough in promoting the construction of a new power system in the local area and injecting strong impetus into regional energy transformation.

The project is located in Jinghong City, Yunnan Province, with a scale of 200MW/400MWh. It is currently an important power grid regulation hub in the southwest region, with efficient power regulation capabilities. Its core functions include power grid peak shaving, frequency regulation, emergency backup, and new energy consumption. Through advanced energy storage technology, it can effectively cope with power grid load fluctuations, significantly improving the stability, flexibility, and new energy acceptance capacity of Xishuangbanna power grid. After the project is put into operation, it is expected to optimize power dispatch by about 100 million kilowatt hours per year, reduce carbon emissions by tens of thousands of tons, help optimize regional energy structure and green low-carbon transformation, and provide reliable support for local economic development.
